Make Dry Audio Sound Like It Was Recorded in a Real Room

Audio · Reverb

Reverb simulates the reflections of a physical space, from a small room to a large hall. It's what rescues a recording that sounds too close and too dead — more than any EQ move will.

Import clipF from your media folder and drag it onto the timeline to try this yourself. This is an audio-only effect — everything here is judged by ear, not by what's in the preview.

Settings used

  • Room Size: 50
  • Decay: 2.0 s
  • Pre-Delay: 0 ms
  • Mix: 30%

Add the effect from FX → Audio → Reverb. Shrink Room Size and Decay for a tight, small-room feel, or push both up for a cavernous hall — Mix controls how far into that space the sound sits.
