Make a Radar-Style Spinning Transition
Radial Wipe is a wipe that rotates around a center point like a clock hand or radar sweep. It's dynamic and energetic — the rotating motion draws the eye and feels more active than a simple linear wipe. Perfect for action sequences, sports content, or when you need a transition that feels fast and forward-moving.
Settings used
- Transition Completion: Keyframed 0 to 100
- Start Angle: 0
- Feather: 2
Add the effect from FX → Transition → Radial Wipe. Start Angle controls the starting position of the sweep — 0° starts from the right and rotates clockwise. Feather softens the wipe edge. The completion parameter animates from 0 to 100 automatically during export, or you can keyframe it manually. Animate for a rotating radar-sweep effect.
When to use it
Use Radial Wipe for energetic sequences, action scenes, or sports montages. The spinning motion feels forward-moving and exciting. Use it sparingly in slower, narrative content — it draws a lot of attention. Combine with fast cuts for maximum impact. Animate multiple radial wipes at different speeds for complex, layered transitions.
