Add an Echo/Delay Effect to Dialogue
Delay repeats a sound after a short gap, fading with each repeat. A quick slap-back gives dialogue a bit of space; a longer, heavier delay is a cheap way to signal a flashback or dream sequence without cutting to anything different visually.
Import clipF from your media folder and drag it onto the timeline to try this yourself. This is an audio-only effect — everything here is judged by ear, not by what's in the preview.
Settings used
- Delay Time: 500 ms
- Feedback: 30%
- Mix: 50%
Add the effect from FX → Audio → Delay. Push Delay Time shorter for a tight slap-back, or longer for spaced-out echoes — Feedback controls how many repeats you hear, and Mix controls how loud they are against the original.
